About

Designer and founder Keti McKenna began her professional journey as a Geophysicist but nurtured a lifelong passion for fashion design and sewing, sparked during her childhood in Tbilisi, Georgia. Immigrating to New York City in the early 1990s, Keti combined her scientific precision with creative flair, quickly establishing herself in the local fashion scene by selling her designs to boutiques in Forest Hills. During this time, she pursued formal training, earning a degree in Patternmaking from the  Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).

Keti's career spanned various roles, including patternmaker, fit model, designer, and technical design manager, working for renowned brands such as Federated, Tommy Hilfiger, Anne Klein, Tahari, Adrianna Papell, and Joe Fresh. Her expertise extended to international production, where she frequently traveled to oversee craftsmanship, train factory representatives, and resolve production challenges.

In the summer of 2015, Keti and her husband relocated to Denver, Colorado, seeking a change of pace and a deeper connection to the natural beauty of the state. In April 2017, she launched KetiVani, a brand rooted in the principles of slow fashion.

KetiVani creates small-batch, attainable luxury pieces characterized by timeless designs, exceptional fit, and meticulous construction. Guided by the tagline Fashion with Fit and Function, every KetiVani creation is a labor of love, with Keti personally involved in every step of the process—from the initial concept and patternmaking to draping, sample sewing, and fitting.

Keti’s rare combination of artistic vision and technical expertise sets her apart in the fashion industry. Not only can she render exquisite fashion illustrations, but she also possesses the knowledge and craftsmanship to bring those designs to life. Her designs are intended to accompany the wearer through life’s journey, aging gracefully while remaining elegant and functional.
