Below, you can read some of the questions and answers from the TV interview:

1.WHAT INSPIRED YOUR COLLECTION FOR THIS FASHION SHOW AND WHAT MESSAGE OR STORY ARE YOU TRYING TO CONVEY THROUGH YOUR DESIGNS

The connection to nature is at the heart of my collection. My collection is inspired by my life in Colorado and the stunning natural beauty that surrounds us. From the red rocks to the textures of the rocks and mountains, I've created very personal collection and also unique to this state. Living in Denver is a privilege because it offers a perfect blend of urban and natural landscapes. I can start my day hiking and end it by enjoying a show in downtown Denver. This dynamic lifestyle, fuels my creativity and has shaped the essence of my collection.

2.KETI, YOU HAVE WORKED IN THE NEW YORK FASHION INDUSTRY FOR 23 YEARS. WHAT MAKES YOUR BRAND AND DESIGN PROCESS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER DESIGNERS IN DENVER?

My extensive experience in the fashion industry has given me a unique perspective and skill set that I bring to my brand. Having worked in a managerial role in product development for a major corporation, I've traveled to factories around the world, gaining a deep understanding of global manufacturing processes. This experience allows me to blend high-quality craftsmanship with efficient production techniques.

What truly sets my brand apart is my commitment to slow fashion and sustainability. Each piece in my collection is hand-crafted with meticulous attention to detail. I focus on creating timeless designs that prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring that every garment not only looks beautiful but is also made to last. This holistic approach to fashion is what differentiates my brand and resonates with customers who value both style and sustainability.

3.HOW DID YOU BUILD YOUR AUDIENCE ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

When I moved to Colorado, I decided to do 2 things I love professionally: Design and Teach.

When I began teaching garment construction, fitting and pattern drafting at Denver Design Incubator, I quickly noticed a common struggle among aspiring designers—many lacked the necessary skills to execute their designs with precision.
To address this gap, I launched a separate Instagram page called Keti.Teacher, initially intending to provide little extra for to my students about creating clothing.

To my surprise, my instructional videos quickly gained popularity, with some going viral. Within couple years, my following organically grew to 144,000. This success can be attributed to the consistent quality of my content and the demand for skilled professionals in my field. By offering this specialized knowledge, I was able to build a loyal and engaged audience on social media.

4. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON SUSTAINABILITY AND ETHICAL PRACTICES IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY, AND HOW DO THEY INFLUENCE YOUR DESIGN PROCESS?

Sustainability is a fundamental core of my business.  As a former geophysicist, I have a deep understanding of the impact Garment Industry have on our planet, and this awareness drives my dedication to sustainable practices.

I believe in producing less, but high-quality pieces that are made to last, rather than following the fast-fashion model that contributes to environmental problems. Some pieces in this collection are designed from left over scraps. By cutting and creating each piece individually, I can ensure that the highest standards of quality and sustainability are met.

5. WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR BRAND TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR?

The KetiVani brand slogan is Fashion with Fit and Function.   I am not striving to be a global brand. I create limited edition of elegant, classic wardrobe essentials.  I offer fabulous clothing that fits well, made from high quality fabrics with excellent craftsmanship. My designs offer generational longevity and tremendous value with minimal environmental impact.

6.WHAT IS THE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO A NEW DESIGNER?

It is a saturated market. Know who your customer is.  Research your competition. Don’t design anything basic, unless you can make it better than anyone else in the world.
